Synfora Appoints General Manager
for Japan
Mountain View, Calif. –November 19, 2009 – Continuing
its growth to meet worldwide demand for its innovative high level
synthesis tools, Synfora, Inc., has appointed Mike Arai as general
manager of its Japan office. Mr. Arai will be responsible for overseeing
all of Synfora’s sales, marketing, support and business development
activities in Japan.
“Japan has been at the fore-front of adopting high level
synthesis tools to solve the productivity problem for designing
and verifying complex SoCs and FPGAs, and Synfora has seen tremendous
growth in the adoption of its PICO C synthesis tools in Japan over
the past couple of years,” said Synfora president and CEO
Simon Napper. “Mike has over 20 years of experience in EDA
and synthesis in large companies and start-ups, in both Japan and
the USA. Having someone of Mike’s caliber running the Japan
office will allow us to continue to grow at a rapid pace and to
provide optimal support for our Japanese customers.”
Mr. Arai was the first employee of Synplicity KK and built the
Japanese market for FPGA synthesis as president of Synplicity KK
from 2000 to 2008. Prior to Synplicity KK, he was an executive and
head of sales at Mentor Graphics Japan, country manager in Japan
for Compass Design Automation, and worked for a major Japanese trading
company, where he focused on introducing US technology start-ups
to Japan as well as managing distribution for Gateway Design and
synthesis products from Synopsys.
